Switch 2 receives new themed console and accessories for Zelda's 40th anniversary

Amid the grand celebrations of the Nintendo Direct dedicated to the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise, the Japanese giant revealed a major surprise (more than anticipated) for collectors and fans of the company's hardware: a special limited edition of the Nintendo Switch 2 will hit physical and digital stores in 2026, along with a complete line of themed accessories, immortalizing four decades of adventures in Hyrule.

According to the images and information released, the “Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition” features a sophisticated design that contrasts the dark and the divine, the shadows and the light. The console's dock has a matte black background with elegant golden geometric patterns, culminating in the Triforce emblem at the center.

The controllers take on a rustic green tone, directly referencing Link's traditional attire, the hero of the saga, and feature subtle symbols engraved in the finish. The official launch of the console is set for October 29, 2026.

Accessories for the ultimate experience

For players looking to enhance their gaming setup, Nintendo also announced the Switch 2 Pro Controller inspired by the same 40th-anniversary line. The coveted controller maintains the strong visual identity of the console, featuring a central body adorned in black and gold, with the Triforce prominently displayed, while the grips match the same characteristic green. This controller edition also includes an official display stand in the box.

Wrapping up the package of news, a themed case for the 40th anniversary of Zelda for the Switch 2 was revealed, designed to protect the new device and showcase the franchise's striking colors. The case set includes a protective film. All these items will be available simultaneously in the international market starting October 29, 2026, while pre-orders in Brazil will begin on September 18 at 10 AM.
