International Tour Announced for the 40th Anniversary Concert of the Zelda Franchise

The opening of the Nintendo Direct on September 9 officially announced an orchestral tour in honor of the 40th anniversary of the The Legend of Zelda franchise, starting in 2027 and bringing some of the most iconic music from the games to the world. This information was revealed by the legendary musician and composer of the series' soundtracks, Koji Kondo, who is also responsible for franchises like Super Mario Bros and Star Fox. At the beginning of the presentation, we got a glimpse of the magnitude of this concert with a recording made especially for the Direct.

According to the information released, the international tour will kick off on February 22, 2027, in the United States, moving to Europe, in London, on April 3, and reaching Australia on May 13. Unfortunately, there are no plans for a performance in Brazil or Latin America, but additional cities and countries will be announced in the future. Ticket sales will begin in September 2026, with dates and prices varying by location. The complete list of dates and times can be accessed directly on the dedicated concert website.

Previous Performances

Even with the strong possibility of no performance in Brazil, it is still possible to access and purchase recordings of previous orchestras from the franchise for personal enjoyment. In total, there were 4 recorded performances, including two international ones celebrating the franchise's 25th anniversary, two special performances that took place in Japan, and the last performance that occurred in 2024, which was supposed to air alongside Nintendo Live 2024 TOKYO but had to be canceled, being released digitally some time later.

For fans who want to have some of this music in their physical collections, three of these major milestones received special editions in CD and DVD format that have become true treasures. They are the 25th Anniversary Special Orchestra CD (2011), which was distributed in a special package along with the first physical copies of the game The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (the Nintendo Wii version!), the The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary Concert Album (2016), which featured a double album with two CDs, plus a DVD with the visual recording of the live performance, and the The Legend of Zelda Concert (2018), which received a double CD and Blu-ray edition containing the video recording of the show. These recordings can also be accessed digitally.

With this, it is expected that, after the end of the international tour, the 40th-anniversary concert will also receive a “definitive version” with physical and digital releases, immortalizing the work of countless musicians and composers from the Zelda franchise over the past four decades.
